While I've worked in several Latin American countries with health programs, travelling to Panama has been among the most impactful experiences. I first travelled to the rural mountainside community of Chicá in 2015, but have since returned twice to carry out an original public health research project for my master's degree, and to provide basic health services to the community with an interdisciplinary team of graduate students. A trip to Panama would be incomplete without admiring the hectic life in la ciudad and the tranquilo vibes in the Caribbean province of Guna Yala.
